Museum receives a $10,000 grant!

The Texas Quilt Museum recently received a $10,000 award from Houston First as part of their Tourism Marketing Matching Grant Program. The initiative, now in its second year, is designed to bring together tourism organizations in Greater Houston and surrounding areas and increase leisure travel to the region.
The dollar-for-dollar marketing match grant was awarded to 14 groups, organizations, events, and/or venues out of the many more who applied. The
Texas Quilt Museum will use the grant to help promote and advertise throughout
the state of Texas “A Celebration of Quilts.” It consists of four quilt-related events
in La Grange in the surrounding areas that will take place the last weekend of February, 2017.
In addition to the current exhibits on display at the Museum, the other events are
the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild’s “Best Little Quilt Show in Texas” at the Fayette County Fairgrounds, a historical quilt exhibit at the University of Texas Dolph Briscoe Center in Winedale, and a contemporary fiber art show at the Copper Shade Tree Gallery in Round Top. The La Grange Main Street & Visitors Bureau is also a contributing partner.
