Meet Our New Intern
Jeffrey Lara, Jr. from Schulenburg, Texas, is a high school junior who is
doing a summer job internship at the Museum. He's standing in front of
“The Shakespeare Stamp” quilt by Teresa Barkley, part of the current “America the Beautiful” exhibit.
After almost a month as the Museum's very first intern, here's what Jeffrey
has to say:
“I've been interning with the Texas Quilt Museum throughout the month of July. I've learned these aren't just quilts, they are works of art. When you come to the museum, you don't just look at "quilts" you look at someone's masterpiece, someone's pride and joy, someone's countless hours and hard work. That is what I see when I look at these quilts.”
